Leadership! Learning! Community! Teamwork! Great programs are rewarded at the FJMC Convention Deauville Resort in Miami Beach FL; also the Program Fair there! You've got to be in it to win it!
Glenn Hauer of Beth Sholom Bnai Israel in Manchester, CT and Mitchell Ross of Congregation Or Tzion in Scottsdale, AZ are pleased to announce that the 2014-2015 Torch Awards application is online and submissions are flowing in. They and their committee are ready to start reviewing applications. The Torch Awards is a great FJMC initiative that recognizes chapters for exceptional programming, and allows clubs to easily repeat the successful programs developed by others. Your FJMC affiliation gives you access to an outstanding program database of past Torch Award winners, to help your chapter increase participation and allow your brotherhood/men’s club to thrive.
People familiar with the program will notice some changes this year, bringing the Torch Award categories into line with the requirements for the 2015 Quality Club Award. The co-chairs recognize that sometimes applications may be appropriate for multiple categories. As such, there is an option to let the co-chairs select the most appropriate category for your submission. Applications can be completed off-line and then emailed directly to the co-chairs at torchawards.fjmc.2015@gmail.com. Photographs and videos are not a requirement for the application; however, they are a great way to show off your program, and to help other chapters reproduce your success. Instructions for the Torch Award application are available on the FJMC website. If you have questions, feel free to email the co-chairs any time.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Torch Awards will be awarded at the International Convention in Miami, FL in 2015. We look forward to reviewing your applications and seeing you all at Convention! If you are interested in helping to volunteer to judge the Torch Awards, please email the co-chairs.
