The Food Bank program was developed after a Thanksgiving meal with friends and seeing how much food went to waste. We needed to find a way to feed those in our community who were hungry
After witnessing a 28 lb Turkey for 10 people, I saw the waste of food that was happening and a need to change this was identified at the dinner table. We set up collections for the days after large gatherings with lots of food and leftovers such as New Years eve and Thanksgiving. Members of our community were asked to bring leftover foods which were collected and immediately brought to the Blessing Bag Brigade who got food to those who are hungry. We also asked our membership to bring casserole and other prepared foods as well. It was great to help those who were hungry and we had the ability to help solve this issue for a day.

Self Assessment
We impacted the community with this program, not only within our club but our surrounding area. Many members of our community made contributions, not just MC members, but members at large.
We impacted the community by feeding the hungry. We took food that would have been discarded and repurposed this to help those who would eat of the street to fill their stomach. With Covid, it was difficult to repeat this program, we hope to do this again in the 2021.
This is an easy outreach and can be replicated by every club in some way.
