Joint Programming

Our goal was to maintain our annual bus trip, some one-day and others overnight, by doing it virtually this year. This trip provides an opportunity for joint programming between our Men's Club and Sisterhood and gives our members a chance to travel and experience sights together. So we did our online research, found videos, put together powerpoint presentations, gathered member-presenters, and visited New York City virtually.
In five 1-hour sessions, virtually we: did a 7 hour bus ride in 15 minutes; had a helicopter tour of the city; rode a bike (video from helmet-cam) through Central Park, across the Brooklyn Bridge, and into Times Square at night; visited the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, MOMA, Jewish Theological Seminary, Madison Square Garden, Ellis Island; attended a Broadway show (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).

Self Assessment
We have been building up the number of people interested in joining us on these trips. This year we had 70 screens, about 100 participants, go virtually to NYC with us. Our joint programming credibility was enhanced with this program.
Engaging members during the pandemic has been paramount in our minds. Maintaining their involvement in synagogue has been challenging. This program, among others we've done this year, was very successful in bringing our Men's Club and Sisterhood together in a way that provided all our members more of a commitment to the services provided by the synagogue.
