This is a program we have been doing for a few years. Anytime we have a debilitating winter storm, such as the one in early February that buried our region under 2 feet of snow, we send out a message to help our members who may be in need of assistance to dig out from their houses once it's safe to go out. We use email and social media to promote. This recent storm, we actually helped dig out the cars of a senior community as the plows typically leave the cars buried.

Men's Club is ready to help; if you're stuck and need help shoveling after the storm email mensclub@bethelnj.org and we'll try to get someone over to dig you out.

Self Assessment
This is a program we've had for years, and this year was the most gratifying. We received multiple thank you and unsolicted donations (we did not ask for). The seniors were so thankful and even a food bank asked if we could help if they need us
This is a great way to give back to the community with little effort. Seniors a lot of times don't have the money to pay for shoveling, nor the physical acumen to lift heavy shovels of snow.
This is fairly easy to implement.. just make sure you have a good group of guys who love helping others.
