The Congregation Beth Shalom Men’s Club is an active and integral part of our synagogue community, providing education, community service, social and bonding experiences, and leadership development.

We have a number of programs that not only serve our Men’s Club and the larger Congregation Beth Shalom Community, but also serve both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities beyond the walls of our synagogue.

The group of programs that follow, fulfill a multitude of needs in the wider Community.

Self Assessment
This group of programs results in the following::

1. We assist Seniors in their later years to observe Shabbat
2. We raise funds and provide food for the food insecure in the City of Chicago through the Ark and the Council for Jewish
Elderly.
3. We raise funds to provide programs to the Congregation Beth Shalom Community and the larger community at no cost.
4. We provide Yellow Candles to every Beth Shalom Family so they can remember the 6 million on Yom Ha'Shoah and
through this program, we raise funds to offset transportation and entrance fees to the Illinois Holocaust Museum.
5. We save lives through blood donation, and provide flu shots to the Congregation Beth Shalom Community.
6. We help reduce food insecurity in the Village of Northbrook by donating two bags of groceries each month.

The impact on multiple communities is significant and we are proud of it.
This group of programs requires significant leadership to plan and execute and provides a clear example for younger members of the Club as they move up into leadership positions.

The programs that needed to be adapted to COVID-19 required a bit of innovation to provide credibility so people would have the confidence to participate in safety.

All of these programs are Community concentric.
Not at this time.
