Non-FJMC Program

We hosted a Super Bowl party projecting the game on the big screen in the social hall. We had a game area for the kids assisted by USY and had a scoring pool for an iPad mini.
Per NFL rules we can not charge people to watch the game, however we can charge for food and show the game for free. Therefore we displayed the game on the 12 foot screen in the social hall. We borrowed an LCD projector and used a high definition antenna to capture the signal. We used a laptop to convert the video and send it to the projector. We added speakers for the sound. The event began 30 minutes before the game so people could eat. We had a committee make hamburgers and hotdogs and had chips, salsa and other parve munchies. Dessert wasjelly beans. We had USY help with the little kids. We had 3 Wii's, corn hole and board games set up in another social hall. At half time most people left, but some stayed to the very end.
We also had an $18 per square score pool where people chose a square and later we added the teams on the top and side with the scores 0-9. We ended up selling the squares for $9 each. We gave out small gift certificates with each score change and the grand prize at the end was an iPad mini. We broke even on the event.
