The overall goal is to reach the non-members of our club/brotherhood through their children and to let our youngster be aware of the integral part a Jewish man was active in the second World War. A secondary goal was to let a member of our brotherhood explain exploits and how he saved his crew. The third goal is to keep our name and activities before the TIC family and in particular the non brotherhood members to increase our membership as well as establishing ourselves as a service arm of our Synagogue.

The individual member of our club had a video prepared (which is too large to upload here) to explain how his plane was damaged and he was able to bring he plane back to England and crash land the plane after extensive damage. All of the crew were injured and they spent a considerable amount of time in hospitals and were so severely hurt that they were not restored to normal.

As an ancillary purpose of the program, we worked with the educational arm of the Synagogue and had youngsters and teen agers attend the program so that they would be aware of what many of their Jewish grandparents and possibly other relatives did. We also had a discussion time so that the teenagers as well as the invited adults both male and female could ask questions

The program was spread through emails with the Synagogue members, word of mouth, and the Shabbat morning program.

A continental breakfast was provided for all as an inducement for attendance and we had over one hundred and fifty individuals attend.

What was quite fortunate is that we were able to have this program on 11 NOVEMBER 2012

Self Assessment
The impact of the program is that we reached youngsters who were quite eager to learn more about the involvement of Jewish men in World War II. We did get a few new members who then came out to other functions of the TIC brotherhood.

We also decided that we would have our meetings open to women and some of them were instrumental in bringing their husbands. The individual who made the video is a Lieutenant in the US Army and as a member of the West Point organization enabled us to have a meeting at West Point, with a Kosher brunch on a Sunday morning and at which time they were able to see the Synagogue at the point as well as the Jewish museum with Jewish artifacts. This was an experience which was quite unexpected.

We were also able to start to establish a relationship with the teenagers with the goal of bringing them into FJMC as they mature.
One of the impacts was that we were asked to do other programs of this type by non members of our Brotherhood.

Another impact was when the Region decided to go to West Point for a service in the Synagogue, we were able to get many non brotherhood as well as brotherhood members attend the service.

Another impact is that the Brotherhood has a close connection with West Point because the son of a member is a full Colonel. He is now a second year student in the academy and it is the beginning of future programs involving the academies and the Veterans of the various wars.

Jewish life includes being part of the overall community and appreciation of what the various members of the Synagogue due for their country and community.

The program origin was based on what do we as a Brotherhood do to involve our youngsters to teach them how involved the Jewish population is in The United States of America
