The Congregation Beth Shalom Men’s Club is an active and integral part of our synagogue community, providing education, community service, social and bonding experiences, and leadership development, as well as lots of meals. We have a large number of signature events and constantly seek to integrate with the many other arms of the synagogue.

We are a dynamic and committed group of men always striving to enhance our Jewish experience. All our programing is open to the entire congregation and may are open to the wider community. With Congregation Beth Shalom now serving many families with four generations, our programs have been designed to be diverse to serve the needs and desires of all.

We want to emphasize that this as well as our Club’s other Torch Award Applications were not the product of one or two men. This was a team effort as is most of what we do, involving thirteen members of the Club who contributed photos and screen shots, supporting documentation as well as descriptions of many of the programs.
Photos inserted with captions within the text would not copy to this field. So we created four PDF files of the Detailed Program Description and attached the files under Marketing below due to file size.

Self Assessment
The two year body of work we have presented here, not only shows how active our Club is, but also that we are fully integrated into everything that Congregation Beth Shalom does. The result being that we are a major creator of Synagogue Life, which is exactly where we want to be.

Our smaller Sunday Morning Programs attract between 25 to 70 participants and our Social Programs attract between 60 and 100 participants. In 2021, our Men's Club Shabbat - Night of Recognition and Yom Ha'Shoah programs, both attracted over 125 participants over ZOOM.

Congregants have been overwhelmingly complementary during COVID-19 with regards to the variety and quality of the programing we have provided. This not only places us in high esteem, but also proves to the men of the Congregation that we are a worthwhile organization to get involved in.
The two year body of work we have presented here, is of such a variety, it provides multiple opportunities for Jewish Men with different interests to get involved. The descriptions of each program clearly show the leadership required to execute the programs, which begets future leadership.

Many of our programs, especially those executed during COVID-19, require a bit of innovation to be successful. When you view all our programming as a whole, it is clear that it not only supports our Men's Club Community but also the Congregation Beth Shalom Community and our larger Jewish Community.
