Two of the primary objectives of the Inflation reduction act of 2022 were to get America to boost their domestic renewable energy production and reduce carbon emissions by roughly 40 % by 2030.   Over 369 billion dollars was allocated to be spent by the US government  over the next 10 years to make this a reality. The primary way for the money for these items to get to the American population is through the US tax system and with tax credits.
